Mayon activity increases as Kilauea and Great Sitkin hold at Aviation ORANGE

A surge at Mayon stands out today, while Kilauea and Great Sitkin keep steady at Watch/Aviation ORANGE. Pavlof shows increased unrest, Indonesia maintains several Level 3 eruptions, and Popocatepetl plus multiple Andean volcanoes stay active. Most alert levels and activity states are unchanged from the previous day; Lewotolok’s designation shifted back to a continuing eruption.

United States
Great Sitkin and Kilauea continue in eruption at Watch/Aviation ORANGE. Unrest increased at Pavlof (Advisory/Aviation YELLOW), while Shishaldin remains at Advisory/Aviation YELLOW; Aniakchak is unassigned with no new information.

Indonesia
Level 3 eruptions continue at Merapi, Semeru, and Lewotobi. Dukono and Ibu also remain in eruption, and Lewotolok is now categorized as a continuing eruption. Unrest persists at Kerinci, Karangetang, and Iliwerung, with Talang also elevated. Egon and Tangkuban Parahu are at normal background.

Philippines
Mayon shows increased eruptive activity (Alert Level 3). Ongoing unrest continues at Kanlaon (Alert Level 2) and Taal (Alert Level 1).
