Kanlaon volcano (Philippines): massive eruption with huge ash cloud up to 17,000 ft and pyroclastic flows

Yet another powerful explosion took place from the volcano yesterday.

A towering pillar of gas, ash and other ejecta rose to about 17,000 ft (5,200 m) altitude, drifting west-southwest.

Incandescent material showered the summit crater with glowing lava bombs.
The eruption also produced pyroclastic flows that raced over the eastern and southeastern flanks, reaching a length of about 2,000 m from the summit.
