The Instituto Nacional de Sismología, Vulcanología, Meteorología e Hidrología (INSIVUMEH) reported that the eruption continued at Fuego between 8 February 2026 (local) and 9 February 2026 (local). There were explosions reported, with plumes rising to a maximum of 737 m (2,418 ft) above the vent. Ash fall was reported in San Pedro Yepocapa, Panimaché Uno and Panimaché Dos, Morelia, and Santa Sofía. There were rockfalls. Activity also included: audible sounds (e.g., booms, rumbling), shockwave.
