The effusive-explosive eruption of the volcano continues.
From available webcam imagery on 18 March, it seems a fresh batch of magma has been shifting through the main conduit. Most of the red, hot fluid lava has flowed directly from the summit crater into the southeastern flank ravine. Simultaneously, strombolian activity has been picking up at the summit vent while erupting. This also confirms a stunning satellite image of the elevated effusive activity of Sangay acquired by Sentinel-2.
