Glow from the oozing lava Stromboli volcano yesterday (image: INGV)
A new lava flow started to descend from the north crater terrace in late afternoon yesterday.
The volcano observatory in Catania (INGV) reported that a strong and intense spattering from the northeastern vent preceded the event, triggering the lava flow onto the Sciara del Fuoco slope.
Over the past 24 hours, a volcano-tectonic tremor remains at average values.
