Pavlof (Alaska Peninsula, USA): (22 Jan) The effusive activity at the volcano continues.
Periods of the lava fountaining from the upper southeastern flank have formed a small spatter cone. Highly elevated surface temperatures suggest that the lava flow on the east flank remains active. The 1,300 m long lava flow melted snow and ice and caused a lahar which traveled 4.4 km downslope in the east-southeast direction.
