Amnesty International statement on eviction of protesters from its International Secretariat office in London

It is with considerable regret that Amnesty International can confirm that just before 10pm last night a group of approximately 40 protesters rushed the door and forcibly entered the offices of the organisation’s International Secretariat in London. A security guard was pushed and pulled to the ground and trampled underfoot. He was shaken but not injured and thankfully did not require hospital treatment.

Protest at Amnesty International office

Since yesterday, 24 April, a number of representatives from Kurdish organisations have been staging a sit-in in the lobby of the office of Amnesty International’s International Secretariat in London. Amnesty International considers this a legitimate, and so far peaceful protest.
