Fuego volcano (Guatemala): ongoing strombolian activity

INSIVUMEH recorded weak to moderate strombolian-type explosions at regular intervals of 6 to 10 per hour that generated a grey ash plume which reached approx. 14,108 ft-15,420 ft (4,300 m-4,700 m) altitude. The plumes drifted towards the southwest direction. Ashfall was reported in several areas downwind including Santa Sofía (12 km SW), Morelia (9 km SW), Panimaché I and II (8 km SW).
