Ebeko volcano (Paramushir Island, northern Kuriles): explosive activity continues

KVERT recorded that explosions at the volcano generated an ash plumes, which reached approx. 19,700 ft (6,000 m) altitude and drifted NE. The volcano remains active with intermittent ash emissions and sporadic moderately strong vulcanian-type explosions. Ongoing activity could affect low-flying aircraft and airport of Severo-Kurilsk.
