The long-awaited 55th episode of lava fountaining in Halemaʻumaʻu summit crater began a short time ago, at 3:19 AM HST local time on October 17, 2026.
Fountain heights were initially relatively low at about 100-150 feet (30-45 m), but have since increased greatly.
