A steady day of eruptions and unrest spanned Alaska, Hawaii, the Philippines, and the Andes. Great Sitkin stayed at Aviation ORANGE during its ongoing eruption, while Kilauea held at Advisory with Aviation Yellow. In the Philippines, Mayon remained at Alert Level 3 as Kanlaon and Taal stayed active, and Mexico’s Popocatepetl continued under Yellow Alert Phase 2.
United States
An eruption is ongoing at Great Sitkin (Watch / Aviation ORANGE). At Kilauea, an eruption continues under Advisory with Aviation YELLOW. Unrest is also noted at Shishaldin and Kupreanof (both Advisory / Aviation YELLOW).
Indonesia
At Lewotolok, an eruption persists (Alert Level 2 – Alert). Unrest at Alert Level 2 spans several volcanoes including Karangetang, Gamalama, Sinabung, Tambora, Dempo, Sangeang Api, Sorikmarapi, Slamet, Soputan, Iya, and Bur ni Telong. Tangkuban Parahu is at Level 1 – Normal.
Philippines
Eruptive activity continues at Mayon (Alert Level 3) and Kanlaon (Alert Level 2), while Taal remains in low-level unrest (Alert Level 1). Bulusan is also in unrest at Alert Level 1.
Mexico
Popocatepetl continues its long-running eruption under Yellow Alert – Phase 2.
South America
Eruptions are ongoing at Ecuador’s Reventador and Sangay, and at Peru’s Sabancaya.
Other
In Costa Rica, an eruption continues at Poas (Alert Level 2 – Warning), while unrest persists at Rincon de la Vieja and Turrialba (both Level 2 – Warning).
