Reykjanes Volcano (Iceland) activity update Feb 11, 2026 – Unrest

The Icelandic Meteorological Office (IMO) reported that unrest continued at Reykjanes between 4 February 2026 (local) and 11 February 2026 (local). Ground deformation data indicated ongoing inflation. IMO’s modeling suggests that approximately 21 million cubic meters (m³) of magma have accumulated beneath Svartsengi since the last eruption in July 2025. The alert level remained at „2 – Heightened volcanic unrest“ (on a 0-3 level scale). The aviation alert level remained at „Yellow“ (level 2 on a 4-level scale).
