Barren Island (Indian Ocean): (7 Nov) The volcano seems to have entered a new effusive phase.
The short-wave infrared composite (SWIR) by Sentinel-2 likely detected a new lava flow on the northern flank of the edifice on 5 November. In the attached animation, there are currently two thermal anomalies, of which the summit one has been continuing for a longer time, and is currently stronger due to the increased effusive eruption.
