Our friend volcanologist Bastian Steinke sent us a stunning image of the most recent eruptiveepisode at the volcano. It shows a large lava fountain from the north vent, more than 1,000 ft (300 m) tall, feeding multiple lava flows covering the floor of the Halema’uma’u crater.
