Kilauea (Hawai’i): (26 Jan) The eruption of Kīlauea within Halemaʻumaʻu crater came to a pause at 12:36 p.m. HST on January 25, 2025, as lava flows from the north vent ceased.
Episode 6, which began at 11:28 p.m. on January 24, lasted just over 13 hours. During this time, the lava fountains gradually diminished throughout the morning, eventually covering nearly half of Halemaʻumaʻu crater’s floor before the eruption paused. Seismic tremor subsided, and deflationary tilt halted around noon, approximately 30 minutes prior to the pause.
