Kilauea (Hawai’i): (4 Jan) The eruption within the Halemaʻumaʻu crater came to a halt at approximately 8:40 PM local time of the lava draining back into the southern vent, which was the sole vent actively erupting at the time.
The seismic tremor also began to decline around this time, and the summit deflation, which started on December 29th, is ongoing but is expected to slow, stop, or transition to inflation in the coming hours.
