A strong explosion took place from the volcano’s summit crater at 03:03 PM today.
The eruption generated a grey-to-black copious ash plume that released tephra material to estimated 5,4 km altitude propagating west-southwest.
In addition, the event triggered strong how avalanches (so-called pyroclastic flow) racing down the southeastern slope of the edifice.
Therefore, the local volcano observatory raised the alert level for the volcano to Level 3.
