Svartsengi (Reykjanes peninsula, SW Iceland): (5 Sep) The Icelandic Met Office has updated its hazard assessment to reflect recent developments in the ongoing eruption.
This update is valid until September 5, unless significant changes occur. The main change is that zone 5 has been downgraded from high risk (red) to considerable risk (orange), due to a reduced likelihood of ashfall. The risk of gas pollution has also been evaluated based on the weather forecast for each zone in the coming days.

…5 Sep:
In recent days, no ground uplift nor deflation has been observed at Svartsengi.
This indicates that the influx of magma pushing into the reservoir beneath the region is roughly equal to the amount being released by the eruption. It will take several more days of measurements to verify whether ground swell has resumed, as daily variations in geodetic data can be influenced by factors such as changes in atmospheric humidity or solar activity.
