The Servicio Geológico Colombiano reported that the seismic activity at the volcano decreased significantly over the past two days.
Earthquakes associated to rock fracturing continue to be primarily located beneath the crater of the volcano and on its eastern flank, at depths of less than 3 km. The strongest event recorded was M 1.9, observed in two earthquakes on 5 May at 02:25 and 04:46 local time.
The seismic activity associated with fluid movements remains predominantly concentrated in the crater area and its northern flank at depths of less than 0.8 km. Furthermore, earthquakes associated with magma flux, have been detected beneath the Piocollo and Curiquinga centers, with very low magnitudes and depths ranging from 1.5 to 3.5 km.
The alert status for the volcano remains at Orange.
