New hazard map for the area near Grindavik during the eruption (the highest zones 1-4, high-to-medium zones 5,6) (image: IMO)
A new hazard assessment map for Grindavik area has been published by the Norwegian Meteorological Agency due to the ongoing eruption.
The danger in the highest risk zones has increased significantly as the eruption commenced.
The highest danger zones:
1 – orange
2,3 – purple
4 – red
Two new areas have been added to the map, high-to-medium zones (5,6 – yellow). The map is valid until Thursday 28 December.
