Dukono volcano (Halmahera, Indonesia): vigorous ash-rich explosions continue

The powerful activity from the volcano persists.

The PVMBG’s surveillance cameras continue to monitor intense vulcanian-sized explosions from the crater. Another billowing thick grey ash columns reached to 7,500 ft (2,300 m) altitude, expanding south yesterday morning.

In order to mitigate risk, people are advised to avoid the area within a radius of 2 km from the crater.
