Askja (Central Iceland): (17 Aug) The inflation at the volcano continues.
InSAR (interferometric synthetic-aperture radar) monitorings of the volcano consider the central part of the caldera (western-southwestern outer part of the Viti crater) the most uplifted during the July 2021-August 2023 period.

Torfajökull (Iceland): (17 Aug) The latest ground deformation measurements from June revealed an uplift of the volcano.
The central part of the caldera has been inflated by a few centimeters as visible in both InSAR and GPS data. This is presumably reflecting continued magma accumulation under the surface.
