Reykjanes (Reykjanes peninsula (SW Iceland)): Seismic recordings detected a seismic crisis at Reykjanes Peninsula that started yesterday.
Nearly 1800 earthquakes in total have been registered by the Icelandic Meteorological Office since the earthquakes swarm commenced, of which four were recorded with magnitude of more than 4 (M 4.6 at 08:21 this morning), typical sign of magma pushing its way towards the surface through dyke injection/s. The precise location of dyke is not located yet, but the recent model calculations indicate a batch of magma at depth of about 15 km beneath the surface.

…5 Jul:
The elevated activity at the volcano continues.
Block-and-ash flows continue to descend over the southern Mi-si ravine, reaching length of at least 4000 m. Pyroclastic density currents usually form ash plumes – phoenix clouds – towering wall of cloud rising above pyroclastic torrent. The reason for this flow was presumably a destabilization of the lava dome resulting in the partial collapse.

Merapi (Central Java, Indonesia): The extrusive activity at the volcano continues.
Glowing avalanches (hot avalanches of lava particles and ash) descended the southwestern flank of the volcano at 20:26 local time tonight, reaching approx. 2700 m sliding distance from the summit. It resulted from growing, more and more unstable hot lava material, accumulating in the active lava dome at the southwestern rim, making it prone to collapse into hot rock falls.

Piton de la Fournaise (La Réunion): The effusive eruption at the volcano continues at stable levels.
A single active vent within the southeastern slope eruptive fissure has been spilling out the lava into the Grandes Pentes this morning, currently located at altitude 1700 meters. The main flow front from the SE fissure continues to advance towards the main road, whose current position was about 2-2.5 km this morning. The current average discharge lava flow rate is approx. between 5 and 10 m3/s over the past 24 hours using the HOTVOLCC platform.
