The explosive eruption at the volcano continues.
The Pusat Vulkanologi dan Mitigasi Bencana Geologi (PVMBG) local observatory reported an eruption from the cinder cone within the caldera at 10:11 local time this morning. Vulcanian-type grey ash column rose to an altitude of 7,500 ft (2,300 m) and drifted northwest.

A seismic record registered a seismic signal with a maximum amplitude of 28 mm and a duration of 88 seconds.
In order to mitigate risk, people are advised to avoid the area within a radius of 3.5 km from the northern part of the crater.

Taupo (New Zealand): (31 May) The ongoing seismic unrest beneath the volcano, starting exactly one year ago, has paused.
The activity has returned to typical background levels during May this year as it has been showing signs of decreasing trend, including ground deformation.

The unrest and shallow earthquakes have likely been driven by a combination of several factors such as magma movement, fault slipping and/or hydrothermal system. The activity found ceased for now.
