The volcano observatory in Catania (INGV) reported that a strong and intense spattering from the northeastern vent preceded the event, triggering the lava flow onto the Sciara del Fuoco slope at approx. 20:18 local time yesterday, accompanied by a typical steep rise of volcanic tremor, indicating magma moving upwards through the volcanic conduits.
