The volcano continues to have small to moderate-sized vulcanian-type explosions at irregular intervals, typically a few per day.
Explosions occur from the summit crater. The larger ones generate ash plumes rising 2-3 km above the summit, eject incandescent bombs to the outer slopes of the crater and often generate volcanic lightning:
