A new eruption started at the volcano yesterday.
The Servicio Geológico Minero Argentino (SEGEMAR) reported about the new eruptive activity that has generated a continuous grey ash column dispersing southeastern direction. Volcanic ash rose to about 985 ft (300 meters) altitude, leaving fresh ash deposit tracks on the snow cover and it even seems to disable a local airport where ashfall covered airplanes and the airport area, including the runway (see attached image).
