An increasing activity at the volcano in its southern pit crater has been detected on both satellite images (15 Sep) and field observations (12 Sep).
A vigorous lava spattering was seen from hornitos (hawaiian-type phenomena, a steep-sided fragile spatter cone) within the continuous glowing lava lake in the southern pit crater.
