The activity remains intense.

Vulcanian-type ash-rich plumes were being generated from the summit crater which reached approx. 23,000 ft (7,000 m) altitude throughout yesterday. Ash emissions spread towards the west and southwest of the volcano.

Near-constant glow and intermittent small strombolian eruptions continue to be observed in the summit vent during the night. Incandescent material is ejected above the crater showering the upper part of the edifice with glowing scoria. Much of the material tumbles down into the main drainage forming incandescent avalanches.

Sulfur dioxide (SO2) emissions reached to a 690 tonnes yesterday.
