Krakatau volcano (Sunda Strait, Indonesia): eruptions continue at irregular intervals

The explosive activity at the volcano continues.

A sudden, moderate vulcanian eruption took place from the summit vent at 17:20 local time today.
Ash emissions reached 2,000 ft (609 m) altitude and dissipated towards the southwest.
The PVMBG volcano observatory reported seismic signals with maximum amplitudes of 49 mm and a duration of 30 seconds.
