Eruption at Krakatoa volcano at 13:37 today (image: PVMBG)
A series of three explosions occurred at the volcano at 06:36, 13:37 and 21:19 local time today.
Eruptions generated dense dark ash plumes, which reached approximately 2,952 ft (900 m) altitude and drifted N and S.
The PVMBG volcano observatory reported seismic signals with maximum amplitudes of 42, 57 and 58 mm and a duration of 30, 76 and 82 seconds.
