Ibu volcano (Halmahera, Indonesia): intense explosions continue

The explosive activity at the volcano continues at increased levels.
Strong vulcanian eruptions occurred at irregular intervals throughout the day and night from 26 April until this morning.
White-to-grey ash plumes continued to rise to various altitudes, but most often 1 km, 1,5 km and 2,5 km above the crater.

The PVMBG volcano observatory reported a seismic signal with a maximum amplitude of 28-30 mm and a duration of 117, 150, 55, 200, 80, 76 and 100 seconds.
