Turrialba volcano (Costa Rica): sporadic ash and gas emissions continue

Fine particles of ash and gas rose from Turrialba volcano this morning. The orange-to-red color of the plume doesn’t relate to the magma glow but the reflection of sunlight (image: OVSICORI-UNA)

The activity at the volcano continues at generally low levels.
The OVSICORI-UNA local observatory reported that small amounts of ash, gas and water vapor continue from the summit crater dominated by venting.
The seismic activity remains at stable levels, but fluctuated in frequency of quakes.
