The GeoNet volcanologists undertook maintenance to improve the transmission of the seismic data and webcam images.
Minor emissions continue at low intensity with venting of small to moderate ash.
The lake level has increased and even mud geyser has been observed within one of the main craters. Geysering has been quite common over the years when the lake level is high and water floods some of the gas vents.
The gas measuring flight confirmed a minor increase of CO2 volcanic gas measured in mid-January, while sulfur dioxide (SO2) emissions remain at stable levels.
Volcanic Alert Level remains at level 2 and the Aviation Colour Code remains at Yellow.
