Semeru volcano (East Java, Indonesia): occasional pyroclastic flows continue

A small pyroclastic flow from the volcano has been observed on 29 January starting around 22:34 local time.
Collapsing parts of incandescent dome blocks slid down along the slope and generated a small avalanche that lifted ash plumes.

The volcano observatory detected the event on a seismograph with maximum amplitudes of 22 mm and a duration of 220 seconds.

The volcanic alert level remains at Level 3.
