Suwanose-jima (Ryukyu Islands): Explosive activity continues. Volcanic Ash Advisory Center (VAAC) Tokyo warned about a volcanic ash plume that rose up to estimated 6000 ft (1800 m) altitude or flight level 060 and is moving at 25 kts in SE direction.

Hunga Tonga-Hunga Ha’apai (Tonga, Tonga Islands): First images of ash-affected Nuku’alofa, the capital of Tonga, are coming from local people.
After the eruption, moderately strong ash rain of small lapilli set in covered all surfaces. The color of most particles, up to a few mm in size, is mostly brown to reddish-brown, described as „earthy“. This could mean that most of the ejected material might be from older lava rocks.
