Dense ash column from Fuego volcano (image: William Chigna)
Vulcanian activity continues from the summit crater and remains essentially unchanged.
The volcano continues to erupt near-continuous weak-to-moderate explosions at regular intervals of 3 to 5 per hour.
Ash plumes reached approx. 15,400 ft (4,700 m) altitude and extended to the west of the volcano.
Much of the ejected incandescent material is being ejected to an approx. height of 100 meters above the crater, causing weak to moderate avalanches towards Seca, Ceniza, Trinidad and Las Lajas ravines.
