Strong vulcanian activity continues from the volcano’s On-take summit crater.
The Japan Meteorological Agency’s surveillance cameras observed a vigorous eruption as the volcano sent an ash column to 18,000 ft (5,500 m) height at 12:31 yesterday. Visibility after the eruption got worse and was very limited due to dense clouds.
The warning bulletin states that ballistic impacts of volcanic bombs could affect an area of about 1 km distance from the main crater.
