The explosive activity at the volcano continues.
The activity is characterized by phreatomagmatic bursts that occurred at 08:47, 09:15, 09:26, 11:56, and 21:41 local time today. Interaction of water and magma produced a dense dark ash plumes which rose 200 m above the summit accompanied by 700 meters steam-laden plumes.
The seismic instrument detected 65 volcano-tectonic earthquakes, 24 strong low-frequency (LF) earthquakes and 21 three-minute tremors during t24 hours between 7-8 July. Volcanic gases reaching the shallow hydrothermal system that feeds into the lake accompanied by constant degassing.
Sulfur dioxide (SO2) emissions reached to a 11397 tonnes/day today and continue again at above-average levels.
