Taal volcano (Luzon Island, Philippines): weak volcanic unrest continues

No significant change in Taal’s volcanic activity has been observed during the past days.

Steam plumes from the active fumaroles in the main crater reached 50 meters high yesterday 16 March 2021 according to the recent PHIVOLCS volcano bulletin. Daily sulfur dioxide emissions were measured at 600 to 1200 tonnes/day. Small volcanic earthquakes continue to be recorded as well.
