Sakurajima volcano (Kyushu, Japan): explosive activity continues

The explosive eruption of the volcano continues.

The seismic station recorded internal tremor associated with near-constant vulcanian-type explosions that reached 8,000 ft-9,000 ft (2,400 m-2,700 m) altitude and drifted into various directions, but most often E-SE direction. Lava bombs and block are being ejected as far as 1.3-1.7 km away from the crater.
Webcam imagery observed constant degassing and glow from the crater at night that indicating continuing rise of fresh magma inside the volcano’s edifice.
The warning bulletin states that ballistic impacts of volcanic bombs and pyroclastic flows could affect an area of about 2 km distance from the main crater.
