The explosive activity of the volcano continues at moderately high levels.
A spectacular vulcanic explosion occurred from Minamidake crater at 19:59 local time yesterday showering the summit cone with glowing lava bombs that reached distances probably 1,300 m-1,700 m away from the crater as well as an increasingly larger dense dark plume rose to estimated 9,842 ft (3,000 m) altitude.
