Semisopochnoi volcano (Alaska): alert level lowered

The Alaska Volcano Observatory (AVO) lowered the alert level of the volcano because no eruptive activity has been detected at since mid-June.

Seismicity has remained above background levels since that time but had decreased to very low levels before a satellite link for transmitting seismic data failed on 11 November. Low-level seismic unrest may be continuing undetected.
