Bezymianny volcano (Kamchatka): strong pyroclastic flows, ash to 32,000 ft

A sudden increase in the activity occurred at the volcano on 25 November.

At about 03:30 PM local time, pyroclastic flows descended over the southeastern slope, which in turn created a tall ash plume – phoenix clouds – towering wall of cloud rising above the pyroclastic torrent, composed of ash elutriated out of flow that rose to 32,000 ft (10,000 m) altitude.
