The seismic unrest at the volcano persists.

Numerous small, shallow volcanic earthquakes have been detected beneath the volcano. During 15 February, earthquakes have been located beneath the north side of the Spurr summit vent. Satellite and web camera views of the volcano have been obstructed by cloud cover, while the CTK camera has been intermittently obscured by snow over the past few days.
The Alaska Volcano Observatory (AVO) continues to monitor Mount Spurr for signs that could indicate movement toward an eruption. Based on past eruptions, any approach of magma toward the surface would likely be accompanied by changes in earthquake activity, ground deformation, the summit lake, and fumaroles. Therefore, if an eruption were imminent, additional warning signals would likely provide advance notice.
