Lava fountains returned to the Halemaʻumaʻu crater floor’s north vent.
On 19 February at 08:22 PM local time, the 10th effusive commenced with a small spattering, which gradually raised to form spectacular, dome-shaped fire fountains, some lava jest surpassed 90-125 meters (300-400 ft) in height.
It triggered multiple lava flows which continue even at the time of this update.
A seismic tremor peaked at 10:25 local time, and instruments recorded a ground uplift transition from inflation to deflation beneath Halemaʻumaʻu crater.
This marks the 10th eruptive episode since December 23, 2024.
