Another strong explosion occurred at the volcano half an hour ago, at 04:47 local time early Saturday morning. According to the volcano observatory, the eruption lasted approx. 7 minutes and generated an ash column rising approx. 9,000 m above the summit of the Lewotobi Laki-laki peak.
There are no reports of damage. Due to the recent intense activity and strong ash emissions, airports of Flores have been closed.
