Etna volcano update: satellite images of activity

The complete recent eruptive phase of Mount Etna volcano (image: Sentinel-2)

The attached Sentinel-2 visualisation depicts the initial phase and onset of the entire episode in the Voragine crater including new lava flows that over-spilled the northwestern rim of Bocca Nuova crater area and descended to about 3000 m elevation above sea level on Etna’s vast western flank.
