The explosive eruption at the volcano continues.
Over the past few days, the Volcanic Ash Advisory Center (VAAC) Tokyo detected an ash removal reaching altitudes varying between 12,000 ft (3,700 m) and 20,000 ft (6,100 m) elevation. On June 28, a dark grey, dense ash column rose about 2,5 km above the summit vent, ejecting and spreading tephra about 32 km to the south of the volcano.
