
Stromboli (Eolian Islands, Italy): The increased activity at the volcano over the past few days continues.
The INGV institute reported that at about 11:00 local time yesterday, a lava spattering became concentrated at the newly formed hornito in the northern crater rim area. Hot, juvenile and molten lava clots are being ejected to several dozens of meters above the hornito, that, in turn, pilling up several meters high deposits. Furthermore, remaining hot fluid blebs fall to the upper Sciara del Fuoco, coalescing thereby forming the short lava flow, descending hundreds of meters over the flank.
